PASSENGER RAIL

Maricopa also offers passenger rail access and is the greater Phoenix area’s Amtrak hub. Amtrak’s New Orleans-Los Angeles Sunset Limited has a scheduled stop in Maricopa, the only stop in the Phoenix metropolitan area.

GROUND

Access via ground transportation is immediately available by way of two major interstates (I-10 and I-8), with Maricopa conveniently located only 45 minutes from Downtown Phoenix. I-10 is the southernmost bicoastal highway in the U.S., reaching from Santa Monica, California to Jacksonville, Florida, with direct access to Phoenix and Tucson. I-8 offers easy access to San Diego, California via its east-west span, terminating just south of Maricopa.  Long-term planning includes the development of Interstate 11, an international highway that will extend from Mexico to Canada – passing directly through Maricopa.
